If you are new to endurance and want to bring your own horse to a ride, it may be necessary to condition your horse to cope with the different elements that endurance can contribute.
A dedicated trainer will build their horses slowly, making use of long, slow distance (LSD), building the different parts of the horse in a way to best prepare it for a long lifetime of enjoyable riding.
Click here to see an example of a typical conditioning system (Afrikaans only to date). Please take note that although it is easy to get a horse fit, it takes a lot of riding to actually condition the horse for endurance. An English version will be written and uploaded as soon as possible.
